thank you, nancy drew.

Well, hello!

I just hopped off stream; I’m playing through Nancy Drew: Queen of the Lost Tomb, and even though it’s puzzle-heavy, I’ve been enjoying it SO MUCH! I honestly didn’t want to end stream, but I wanted to make sure I made it to Day 3 of blogging/writing (plus, it seemed like there were way more steps I needed to do to finish the game, so more investigating will happen next week!).

I gotta make this quick…midnight is upon us. So, maybe I’ll just write about my adventures in the Nancy Drew game series so far!

It’s crazy to think that I’m on game #26 out 34 Nancy Drew games. I started playing them last year at the end of January, and have been playing them every Monday since. It’s been so nostalgic playing the ones I used to play in middle/high school, and so fun to test my brain with the games I’ve never played. This honestly was my motivation to start streaming, and I’m so happy I chose to do it, and am doing it now! I’ve made such amazing friends, have entered into and build such supportive communities, and have played games I never thought I would play (Fortnite, me? Dead by Daylight, who? UNTIL DAWN, WHAT?!).

Nancy Drew has really taken me on so many adventures in my lifetime. From reading through so many of the books to playing the games, both of these things have opened up parts of me that I never thought I’d fully dive into – me as a writer, and me as a gamer. I’m so grateful to have had both experiences and opportunities; I may not have traveled all over the world (yet), but my adventures have been some of the sweetest, most memorable ones.

So, even though she’s had many a “thank you” from all the mysteries she’s solved, I want to say “thank you” to Nancy Drew anyway. For being the inspiration I needed as a young girl to really think and problem solve for myself. For helping me see things in different perspectives even now as I replay the games…I promise y’all, playing these games again has helped my skills, I don’t have any doubts! But mostly, thank you for helping me find a part of myself I needed to unleash. Thank you for helping me dive into things I never thought would be possible for me!

Short, sweet, to the point! I’ll see y’all tomorrow for another post!
