What’s a job you would like to do for just one day?

I’d want to do something in the fashion industry…whether it be styling someone’s clothes, hair, nails, or makeup!

While I have a great sense of style, I’d have to say it might be a challenge for me to style someone else. But I think it could be fun! Doing hair, makeup, or nails is a great opportunity to get to know other people; I tend to talk to those who do these things for me when I’m at these appointments!

When it comes to choosing what fits best on someone in regards to style and color, it would take great effort for me to not veer toward my own style, and really focus on the person I needed to style. For one day though, I would do my best to move past it!

It’s interesting that I’d choose jobs like nail artist or hair dresser because I feel like a lot of people don’t see much esteem in those jobs. People go to get these things done, but do they even think about the people who are doing these things for them?

Maybe it’s because I’m also currently in an occupation in which some people just expect for their services to be fulfilled, and they don’t think about the person who’s fulfilling that need. The fact that my initial thought would be to choose another job of my kind is sort of funny. Because now when I think about it, I would want to be a social media influencer for a day to see what that really is like; if it’s as glamorous as it may seem on the timeline.

Honestly, there are a handful of jobs I’d just like to try for a day. Like bartender or barista. Still service jobs, but so many opportunities to run into people, ask them about themselves, their stories. Or maybe just make up my own as I encounter them.

The fact that my goal in all of these jobs is to still hear other people’s stories makes me think maybe I should just interviewed or TV show host instead! So many different jobs that would be fun to try for a day! Part of me wishes we could do these things before we’re hired on somewhere: give ourselves the day to work through the routine of a certain occupation to see if this is really what we desire.

I don’t think that’s a bad idea at all!
