…well, hello there! It’s definitely been a minute, but I HAVE RETURNED!

I fear that I may have concerned some people with my last blog post, but just know that honestly, I really needed that. After I let all of that out, I truly feel so much better. I’ve been writing outside of this blog (sorry lol), and gaining more creative momentum and motivation! So, I am okay, I’ve just been busy with other things!

BUT! I have been reading Demon Slayer and watching the show. I’m kinda sad I didn’t do it all in time before the movie came out last week, but I’ll just have to catch it on Crunchy Roll when it releases. For now, I’ll be here continuing to write my thoughts after I’ve read the manga and watched the episodes!

initial thoughts as I read the manga.

• It’s already clear how they’re differentiating Tanjiro as a demon slayer who’s sympathetic to demons (more than likely because of his sister being one)
• Not him being a cry babyyyy (he was crying when he returned home and Nezuko was awake)
• The way this man giving him his sword is ignoring every word he’s saying LOL
• I definitely looked at the cover of the manga to see if Tanjiro’s sword actually turned red (and no, it’s black)
• And the black sword WOULD be the one that apparently unsuccessful swordsmen possess. Great 😭
• Tanjiro really said “fifth form…nevermind there are 3 demons, not one, LET’S BUMP IT UP 3 LEVELS, 8TH FORM” 😂
• I don’t know, y’all…Nezuko really be saving Tanjiro’s ass a lot
• We FINALLY got a lead on who ate up Tanjiro’s family!
• This demon has a human wife and daughter?! His daughter gotta be at least part demon because ain’t no way…wait…IS THIS KPOP DEMON HUNTERS?!

• I just noticed the way the author shows sounds (giant bubble words for SLASH or SHIVER) as well as Tanjiro’s urgent thoughts being in thought bubbles that have intense rays surrounding them! (we love studying graphic novels and the purpose of their illustrations and words)
• Not Yushiro calling Nezuko a hag, and Tanjiro a lout!

I think I stopped a little prematurely in the anime because I didn’t want to accidentally watch anything that was in the third volume. So far they’re portraying everything in the book so well, and I’m eager to keep reading and watching! I’ve heard nothing but good things about the movie that’s in theaters so, I’m sure the manga and anime will just keep getting better and better!

As with the first volume, the second volume ended in a cliff hanger. I’m ready to see how Tanjiro and his new friends will defeat the two demons that showed up to kill him!

I’ll be back with more writing, but I won’t promise! Because then if I don’t come back for another month and a half, y’all won’t be mad at me 😂😅🩵 I’ve got to leave to get ready for an Animal Crossing: New Horizons End of Summer tour for stream, so I’ll catch y’all later!
