my logo: PEACE series

You’ve seen my logo, right? (Just look right above these words. It’s basically the first thing you see on the website 😁). I truly love it! Let me let you in on a secret…the words that are in the butterfly were actually not chosen by me, but the artist placed them there himself!

And that tells me something: it tells me that my brand, even if only seen or interacted with briefly, speaks volumes. That the words that are in that butterfly of my logo can be felt just by reading what I’ve written, watching my movitational videos, or just being in contact with me.

Last month, I focused on one of the words: LOVE. And this month, I feel the need to focus on the word PEACE.

Honestly, there have been days in this grand ole year of 2020 in which I feel like I lack peace – my mind is going a million miles an hour with so many things I’ve got going on; I’m tempted to think negatively because I’m not exactly where I would like to be; and sometimes life just gets exhausting balancing work, my passion, and trying to stay connected with people. I haven’t even touched on the state of the world; what with coronavirus scaring countries, and the American political climate preparing for a Presidential election.

But I know that peace doesn’t rest in the opposites of any of those things – not a settled mind, not positive thoughts, not a perfectly balanced lifestyle. Not a cure for a disease or a perfect country leader. It comes from God. And I know that as a Christian, that’s a pretty ā€œbasicā€ thing to say, but we say it because it’s true. When my relationship with God is on the right track, no matter what happens, I experience so much peace.

As I write this I think of the moments I’ve already had this year in which I felt totally out of control, and I understand that it was because my heart and mind weren’t rooted in God’s love for me, and how He would have me to live my life. Last Friday, I was having a lot of negative thoughts swarm my mind, and I had to choose where I wanted to root my focus in – in those thoughts, or in how God sees me. And when I chose the latter, I was able to easily brush off the negativity and the lies that tried to consume my mind.

God is the root of everything: love, peace, freedom, etc. Ultimately, we are to depend on Him for peace. In this next blog series, my aim is to take experiences in my own life, and shed the Light on what having peace in these particular situations looks like.

The series starts tomorrow! I hope you’re excited to dive in, and reflect how having the peace of God in your life could change things!

What have you placed peace in lately? Have you truly felt at peace, or just temporarily felt it? Ask God to help draw you near to Him, and to experience His amazing peace.
