disclaimer.

So, the next blog theme was “January goals”, but I feel like it was too close to “new year resolutions.” Instead, I thought I’d make a disclaimer.

This blog is not my diary.

Neither is my Facebook (which I’m rarely ever on), Instagram, or any other social media platform I’m on. Because social media is so easy to access, it can be easy to think that we have a backstage pass to everyone’s lives by seeing what they post. Now, many people do choose to be vulnerable on their accounts, and that’s totally fine! What isn’t fine is assuming that just because a handful of people are extremely personal on their accounts, everyone else you follow is as well, or that they should be.

Privacy is a major thing we lack these days, and I find it crazy how people you may have never met feel obligated to know everything about what is happening with you just because you post on social media. Or they feel like they know everything about you just because they follow you.

All of these thoughts aren’t coming from an experience, they’re just observations I’m learning as I navigate my life as a content creator, blogger, etc. And for anyone who is new to my blog this year, I want to go ahead and clear the air that, while I am open with my thoughts here, I won’t be revealing every single thing I’m dealing with or thinking about!

Get it? Got it? Goooooood!

Are you vulnerable on social media? How often do you reveal personal things to your followers? What do you think is considered “crossing the line”?
