What happened to the “TGL”?

*Side note: I’ll be honest, part of me felt like because I was doing this whole Blogtober challenge, I had to make every post extremely meaningful and encouraging or motivating. But I also want to make this fun because there are so many aspects about me that people miss out on if I’m just doing the same things over and over again. So, here we are!

Do you know what I’m talking about when I say “TGL”? If you knew what “TGL” stood for BEFORE you read the rest of this post, I want you to comment below with a 🧡 emoji!

Here’s a hint: If you know what “PSL” is, then “TGL” is what I believe is the opposite.

So, if “PSL” stands for “pumpkin spice latte,” then “TGL” stands for…

Have you heard of it? If you haven’t, I’m not surprised. I feel like there was only one year this special drink from Starbucks came around, and it was during my junior or senior year of college. (Later, I Google’d it, and the latest article I saw about it was written in 2015!)

Now, everyone raves about PUMPKIN THIS AND PUMPKIN THAT whenever fall hits, and while I do love a good slice of pumpkin pie and SEVERAL of one of my co-workers pumpkin bars, I’m not as crazy about the pumpkin flavored everything as many people are. Thankfully, Starbucks still has other fall options to choose from, and back in the day, one of them was the toasted graham latte.

Y’all, after having one of these, I got one every time my friends and I went to Starbucks to study until they finally switched from fall flavors to Christmas ones. It tasted like a s’more, but in coffee form. It wasn’t too sweet, but it had the perfect mix of flavors to still make you feel like you had the season of autumn in a cup, even though you weren’t drinking the favored PSL. But that was the first and last time I ever saw that drink offered again, while PSL stayed on the menu every fall after that, along with the salted caramel latte.

Now, I don’t go to Starbucks as often as I used to anymore, but I still ask them: WHAT HAPPENED?! What happened to the grand TGL?!

Was it just not as popular as the PSL, so you took it away? I’m sure there were other TGL lovers out there other than me who would love to see it back on the menu when fall comes around again (clearly, it’s too late for this year, but I’m getting a head start on 2021!).

I did read an article from The Guardian about someone who tried it and thought it was disgusting because it was more sweet than what he believe coffee should be. But to each their own… I believe the TGL should get another chance!

end-of-post questions

For those of you who are new to following me, first of all, WELCOME! Second of all, I love when people interact with any content I create, so I always ask questions at the end of every post for the readers to answer because I think it’s fun to know what people are thinking! They will always be typed in bold + italic font!

What are your favorite coffee drinks? (They don’t have to be Starbucks related, or even holiday specific!) What are some things that make you think of fall? It could be foods, clothes, songs, places, etc.?
