Something you may or may not know about me is I absolutely LOVE music.

And I listen to a wide variety of genres. Name one and most likely, I’ve at least listened to it once or twice, if not consistently. I love music so much that my best friend Bria and I started a YouTube channel called Kicks and Skittles together in college where we reviewed the latest albums that were released, and concerts that we attended.

Now, since she moved all the way to Cali, and we’re both still trying to figure out our schedules to see if we can revamp our good ole channel 👀, I find joy in creating playlists on Spotify for each season. As soon as I hear a song I love, I add it to whatever playlist I’m working on / listening to, and since we’re in the middle of the fall season, my latest playlist is “2🍁2🍁”

But sometimes I hear songs and I think, “That sounds like summer time” or whatever season I’m in. If you listen to the playlist above, you might notice that some of the songs have the same vibe to them, and although I don’t base the playlist off the same sound every single time, I sometimes wonder if other people hear music the same way.

autumns sounds like…

Autumn vibes to me are more chill and slow. Could be more of an R&B season than a hip hop or punk rock season (those seem more like summer to me, or even winter depending on the song!). If I look back at my old autumn playlists (which I started making back in like my college years, and more seasonally consistent in my adult years now), it’s interesting to see which artists are the ones that have the most songs added, or are the ones I listened to the most during that time. I always look forward to hearing what musicians release during each season, somehow I feel like it always fits how I’m feeling, or how that season of the year is going!

most listened to song?

Admittedly, my most listened to song on this playlist is the first one: “Kiss U Right Now” by Duckwrth. It was on my Discover Weekly playlist last week, and I honestly have found some great songs through that specific playlist, so go Spotify for queuing that up for me every week! 🙌🏽

Not to mention, Bria and I have started a collaborative playlist so we can branch out to different music and artists we haven’t heard! I’m honestly getting tired of hearing the same type of stuff over and over again 🥴
