a moment.

It’s crazy how quickly our bodies begin to feel pain or sleepiness once we slow down.

After work today, I went straight away into more business, doing some modeling and then meeting with a friend for a photoshoot (coming soon!). I picked up a little food for Cadarius and I, and as I finally settled in after moving around so much, it was like my adrenaline decreased, and I immediately started not feeling well.

No, I don’t have COVID. It’s just that time of the month, if you know what I mean 😩 but I immediately started feeling the annoying symptoms that come along with it as I relaxed. I’m grateful I got the time to rest before having to continue tonight’s task of cooking, but this series of events made me think of how we do the same thing to ourselves mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually.

We can sometimes be constantly on the move to the point where we don’t acknowledge our feelings, our thoughts, even our relationship with God. And once we slow down, everything begins to hit us at once; any emotions that we kept pent up, if we hadn’t decided to vent them to someone or write them down, they begin to spill out. If we’ve lost focus on our relationship with God, suddenly, once we slow down, we wonder in what kind of state our walk with Him may be. And while these moments can be insightful, and don’t have to be difficult, it’s important that we slow down, and focus on every aspect of ourselves when we can.

So, I encourage you to take a moment today, tonight, tomorrow, and evaluate your feelings and emotions, your body, your spirit. Sometimes that is all you need – a moment.

Once you take a moment for yourself, how do you feel? Are more negative or positive things being discovered? How can you consistently find time to rest?
