unfamiliar territory.

Thought I wouldn’t make it, now, did you? 🤪

Today, I did something that was in and out of my comfort zone simultaneously…I modeled, but I modeled in clothes I wasn’t used to wearing.

Normally, I like taking pictures in “power outfits” or outfits I find myself most confident and attractive in. Rarely do I step outside of that comfort zone in the fashion world, but today, I was asked to do so, and while at first I felt completely off, eventually I felt myself settling in, and embracing the task at hand.

I think it’s important to step out of our comfort zones every now and again. While it’s lovely to feel confident and comfortable, we find growth in the unfamiliar territories we sometimes aim to avoid because we know we aren’t experts in those areas, and we’d rather be bold in what we know versus uncertain in what we don’t.

I love that I was able to wear clothing that wasn’t necessarily my style, and it was fun to watch the photographer and stylist pick specific pieces to go with what I was wearing, and what the other models were wearing too. To have eyes for that particular side of fashion is a gift, and I admired them for it!

My challenge this weekend, and even into this next week is to dive into something you’re not necessarily an expert in. Maybe you’ve been interested in something specific, but you’re too scared of not being the best at it that you won’t even try. I say, GO FOR IT! You never know what you might learn, and what might inspire you!
